The legend of the Dunlop Bridge – Le Mans

For the 90th anniversary of Le Mans, the Automobile Club de l’Ouest (ACO) has a programme of celebrations for which Dunlop is a partner in recognition of its own 125th birthday.

The Le Mans festivities are well on the way with as an exhibition for 11 legendary cars which has just been opened. The cars have been teased out of private collections, transported across the world and are on display until the end of the race on Sunday. The exhibition is in the Le Mans 24 Hours village and features a montage of how the Dunlop Bridge has evolved during the 90 year history of the race.

You can walk the circuit today Friday 21st June (10am till 4pm) right up to the Dunlop Bridge with the exhibition cars being displayed on the track leading up to the landmark bridge.

Before the race start on Saturday the cars will complete a lap of the circuit. Cars from each decade of the Le Mans 24 Hours are represented including a Bentley Speed Six from 1929, a Porsche 956 from 1982 and a Jaguar D-type from 1957.

The site of the original bridge is recreated as part of Le Mans town’s celebrations, part of the original, longer circuit will be revived with the recreation of the Pontlieue hairpin complete with the authentic Dunlop 1924 branding.
