Casey Stoner given ‘Member of the Order of Australia’

The Australian and former double MotoGP world champion received the honour “For significant service to motorcycle racing” and has been appointed a ‘Member of the Order of Australia (AM)’ in the Queen’s Birthday honours.

Casey Stoner who retired from MotoGP at the end of 2012, took 45 victories in MotoGP and won titles for both Ducati in 2007 and Honda in 2011. Stoner is now found racing for Holden in V8 Supercars.

Here’s a quick video of Casey Binning it in his first race and the Clipsal 500 in Adelaide, Australia, where Casey Stoner debuted his V8 career, only to end up in the wall after 12 laps. It’s a hard transition from 2 wheels to 4 and he was doing well before the incident. Great effort!
