Welcome Back Team Suzuki… 2015 GP Return

Sheene, Lucchinelli, Uncini, Schwantz, Roberts Jr all Suzuki World Champions and blue team have confirmed that they will be back but in 2015, not 2014 as many had thought.

After 2 years off (well not really, they are still going strong back in Japan) 2 x GP Suzuki’s rolled out the back of the race truck in sunny Catalunya and Randy De Puniet once again went out to put them through their paces as the development rider for the European testing team. New rules come into play next season with regards to a controlled ECU being compulsory but teams still have the ability to develop their own software and as far as engines are concerned, the new ‘Suzy’ will pack a 1000cc in-line 4.

In recent years Aussie Chris Vermeulen took the only win for the team in the wet at Le Mans on the GSV-R in 2007 but they have also managed podiums using the previous V4 engined bike.

Question is who will be their riders? Cal Crutchlow is looking for a ride in 2014 but will surely be wanting a two year deal? Other paddock chatter had included Pol Espargaro but what about British Moto2 hero Scott Redding, not to mention Hopper… then there is Mr. Spies who has strong history with the Japanese manufacturer. Whoever ends up donning the blue leathers we are pleased they are coming back.

The Japanese manufacturer confirmed its comeback to the premier class in 2015 and their test team featuring Randy de Puniet joined the rest of the MotoGP™ field for the first time on Monday at Catalunya for its first European test appearance of 2013.
