Sykes Does The Double & Leads WSBK Championship

Tom Sykes again proved he was the man to beat taking pole (red mist down – having been made to use a race tyre rather than a qualifier) then taking both wins at Imola over the weekend.

This is his second double of the year and puts him on top of the standings. Tom described it as ‘ the perfect weekend’ after securing his 6th Superpole, set new fastest lap in qualifying, new lap record in race one and the double win.

Jonathan Rea took 2nd, former championship leader Guintoli 3rd, Melandri 4th and Welshman Chas Davies finished 5th.
