Motorland Aragon Clio Cup International Final – 2nd & 3rd November

Motorland Aragon Circuit, Spain, says good bye to the Clio III on 2nd/ 3rd November before the new Clio Cup debuts in Renault Sport’s National Championships in 2014.

This stand alone final, which will be a kind of ‘Race of Champions’, will see battles between the top Clio Cup drivers from around the world and the top five drivers from the national cups will compete for a Dunlop branded, 4th generation Renault Cup racer for the 2014 season which will be provided as a prize.

This will be a significant, hotly contested race, and the last big race event for the Renault Sport Clio Cup III, which was launched back in 2006. The outgoing Clio Cup has been one of the most successful cars in motorsport, with hundreds of race cars being produced by Renault Sport for use in national and international events all over the world. The new 4th generation Clio Renaultsport 200 Turbo EDC is its successor which again is based on the road car.

The latest racing Clio includes a 220hp turbo-powered engine, which is tuned, then sealed by Oreca Magny-Cours, as well as a six-speed sequential gearbox, with paddle-shift gear change, and an AP Racing clutch. The race series has been supported by Dunlop and the teams use the Dunlop Sport Maxx slick and wet tyres,
