Futuremoto Racing confirm Sam Coventry and 2014 plans

Futuremoto Racing Team will make their full time debut in the 2014 Pirelli National Superstock 1000 championship with Sam Coventry next season.

The team ended the 2013 season as runner-up in the BMCRC MRO Powerbike championship, with Sam also being crowned King of Brands and the Champion of Snetterton.

Sam came very close to taking the BMCRC MRO Powerbikes Championship title, his efforts cruelly denied by just a few points owing to a broken collarbone suffered at Oulton Park and a technical failure at Cadwell Park. Consistently running in the top 3 of the championship, culminating in a phenomenal final weekend at Brands Hatch where he took all four race wins and posted a time of 1:29.5 which would have put him in the top ten on the BSB National Superstock 1000 grid run on the same circuit only a few weeks earlier.

Looking forward to the 2014 season and the continuing relationship with Futuremoto Racing, Sam commented: “I’m thrilled to be making the step up to the BSB series for 2014. I am ready, along with the team and their partners, for the challenge ahead, and I hope to post some good results that I can build on as the season progresses.”

Sam Coventry – Racing History

2012  – Ducati 848 Challenge and finishing fifth and taking several podiums.

2011  – Spanish CEV Stock Extreme Championship, Honda CBR 1000 and had a great result at the last round at Jerez, finishing just one place behind the champion Ivan Silva.

2010  – BSB Superstock 600 (his season compromised by team difficulties and injury).

2009 – TSGB Junior Powerbike Championship on a Ducati 800, riding for the Knight Road Race Team finishing 2nd overall.

2008 – NGRRC and EMRA Formula 125cc Championships finishing 2nd overall, gaining more wins than any other competitor in either championship.
