2014 Autosport International Racing Car Show

2014 Autosport International Racing Car Show – it was an early start Friday morning to get up to the NEC for day 2 of the UK’s and Europe’s leading race car show.

The show opened Thursday with the first two days being trade days with the public days on the Saturday/Sunday and although feeling distinctly smaller this year it was great for the P42 team to get around and catch up with old friends and contacts from the paddock.

There was plenty to see and do with a great display of rally cars – fantastic stand by Wales Rally GB, drift cars, karts, race cars, motorhomes, trailers and if you where looking for new kit there were plenty of helmets, race suits, gloves and parts to choose from.

“Grids are looking good for 2014…”

Talking with the clubs, there was a real feeling of positivity with organisers being very pleased with the numbers already signed up and confirmed for championships new and established for this coming 2014 season. Many clubs have been working hard to ensure the entry fees did not increase this year and with signs of sponsors edging their way back into the paddock offering their support and ultimately helping the competitor save money all is good with motorsport UK. It’s great to hear that racers are returning following several very tough years with low grid numbers with competitors falling away due to financial pressures.

So don the overalls, pull off the covers and burn the midnight oil, 2014 welcomes racers and riders back to the grid.
