Team P42: Charlie Bean Junior Rallycross Contender

Paddock42 are pleased to announce that they will be supporting Charlie Bean this 2014 season in the Junior Rallycross Swift Championship.

CJB Motorsport is the father and son team of Johny and Charlie Bean. Johny is the seasoned pro having won the BTRDA Super modified championship in a BMW 325 in 2010 and originally starting his career as a rally co-driver in mark 2 Escorts. 2004 saw him buy Talbot Sunbeam that he then drove to several class wins including the Trackrod International Rally, his first attempt at a gravel rally. In 2011 he contested the Swift Sport Rallycross Championship where he finished 6th overall picking up a couple of podiums at circuits including, Lydden Hill, Mondello Park, Blyton Park, Knockhill, Croft and Maasmechelen in Belgium.

Johny’s son Charlie is again competing in the Junior Rallycross Swift Championship, aged just 16 this is his third season!

Charlie started his motorsport career in karts, then moved into autograss junior saloons for two seasons. As soon as the The Swift Sport Junior Rallycross Championship was introduced he knew this was a perfect opportunity and started racing Rallycross in 2012.

“My goal for the season is only to win the championship”

Charlie said, “ My goal for the season is only to win the championship. I have been second too many times now. I must continue to be smooth, consistent and get the lead into that first corner, then not let anybody past! ”

“This year is about Charlie.” Jonny Bean commented, “It’s his 3rd and final year as a junior and he now has the experience and determination to start winning races.”

Johny went onto say “The great thing about this championship is the fact that is all controlled by Peter Gwynne Motorsport. All the cars are equal so everyone is on a level playing field, topped off with hospitality at all events and championship parts truck it certainly is in my opinion a great class. I would like to thank Ripla and FBI Taylor for their continued support and welcome onboard Malis Designs, Paddock42 & Oak Tree Garage.”

Paddock42 would like to wish the team every success this season and will be keeping P42 readers informed about their results and news.
