BRSCC Silverstone Results Gough and Haggerty rule FF1600

An 18 race-programme by the BRSCC at Silverstone (9-10 August) was headlined by a heap of Ford races. The Formula Ford 1600 Triple Crown headlined Saturday’s action.

Stuart Gough (Van Diemen RF92) started from pole position for the first race and held a small gap before a battle with David McArthur (Van Diemen LA10) broke out. Gough managed to hold the lead to win but McArthur fell back to third when Joey Foster (Ray GR14) took second. Rob Hall (Mygale JS00) was also on fine form as he moved up from 18th to finish fourth. Ciaran Haggerty (Ray GR14) took the lead of race two prior to mid-distance and held on to that position to the flag. Foster won the titanic scrap for second ahead of James Raven (Ray GR13/14). Race one winner Gough finished fourth but still won class B, Graham Carroll (Van Diemen RF91) finished behind him.

The Ford Fiesta Championship was also on hand over the weekend to entertain and Daniel Holland took both victories in the class C races. David Grady finished behind him on both occasions. Ed Cockhill (D), Pete Daniels (A) and Keith Chapman (B) won both encounters in their classes. Robert Cox and Samuel Watkins shared the victories in the Fiesta Junior Championship.
