Sir Chris Hoy & Charlie Robertson Set For Ginetta-Nissan LMP3

Gold Medalist and Olympic legend Sir Chris Hoy will join Michelin Ginetta GT4 SuperCup champion Charlie Robertson in the 2015 European Le Mans Series in a Ginetta-Nissan LMP3 car.

The Scottish dream-team of 17-year-old Charlie and Sir Chris will join forces as part of the Ginetta-Juno LMP3 prototype endurance racing programme. Robertson was recently awarded the Henry Surtees trophy at the BRDC Annual Awards – the club selecting the youngster for  ‘the most outstanding performance by a BRDC Rising Star’ in 2014. 2011 saw Robertson debut in the KICK Start Energy Ginetta Junior Championship taking runner up in his first season and ultimately securing the title in 2012. Other success has included winning the Michelin Ginetta GT4 SuperCup crown. Sir Chris Hoy, Brittan’s most decorated Olympian, debuted endurance racing last season in the Avon Tyres British GT Championship in a Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3 racer and is looking forward to lining up on the ELMS grid this year.

Ginetta Cars purchased the  sportscar manufacturer Juno in August 2014, and its Chairman Lawrence Tomlinson along with his Team LNT designers and engineers have been putting in the hours to ensure the LMP3 project is a success. The prestigious Nissan partnership and the signing of Robertson to partner Sir Chris Hoy underlines the companies commitment to the ELMS. It is because of this particular partnership that the Hoy and Robertson’s car will be especially named the ‘Ginetta-Nissan LMP3’.
