Slicks for the Kumho 2015 BMW Race Series

The BMW Racing Drivers Club for this years season have announced that , ‘slick’ Kumho race rubber will be available for the class A cars in the popular series this year along with a race wet tyre for those damp meetings…

The club has been a feature in the UK paddocks for over 25 years and is a single make BMW race car series. 2015 sees the championship continue its longstanding partnership with Kumho tyres alongside its existing partners Supagard and Hills. The series likes to keep it simple, all BMW cars are eligible, from current range to older models but 1 series and 3 series cars are generally favoured by the teams and drivers.

This season sees the championship consisting of 16 rounds taking place at 8 of the UK’s major circuits, with each class having 2 x 20 minute races over the race weekends. There are 4 different classes, class A have a separate race but B,C,D all line up and go head to head together on the same grid. To keep the racing as close as it can be, power to weight is consistently monitored by the clubs data logging system at every race meeting.

Class A: (specifically made for this series) this being the high end M3 specification class.

Class B / C / D will use the Kumho K91 treaded race spec tyre.

Class B / C sees mainly lower engine spec M3’s with the entry level class D for limited modifications with many competitors choosing E36 318is specification cars – this class is an ideal step up from track days to get on the grid and start circuit racing.
