The event is an ideal opportunity for those wishing to explore the possibilities of historic motorsport to meet with the clubs and see who is offering what and where this 2015 season.

Historic competition has been surging in popularity over the last few years with more and more drivers competing up and down the country on circuits, stages and hills in a wide variety of cars and bikes. Talking with the clubs at the show, 2015 looks again to be another belter of a year with some already fully subscribed events, ensuring that drivers will have plenty of choice and competition in their chosen field.

The Coventry show this year did not disappoint, with a broad selection of stands, displays, interview stage and auto jumble. Silverstone Auctions had a large variety of cars ‘going to the block’ from Group N Escort Cosworth, a truly stunning ‘ 72 RS1600, a race prepared ’70 Lotus Elan S4 and even a pair of Ferrari F430 GT3’s along with collectible memorabilia. Bikes have always featured at Race Retro and again this year there was a fine selection for those of us who seek our frills on 2 wheels rather than 4, with a superb ‘Pride of Ownership’ display by Classic Bike.

Time to get back to the workshop and finish that build, the season start is only a few weeks away…
