Britcar Dunlop 24hr 2015

For the first time since 2012 the Britcar Dunlop 24 Hour race returned to Silverstone and Paddock 42 contributor Ed Bookless was there to capture the action unfold.

With the sun shining and everyone in upbeat moods the 28 cars took to the grid for a 4pm rolling start down the National Pit straight at Silverstone. The Team LNT Ginetta pulled away and took an early lead leaving the rest of the pack behind. Racing was steady and as the sun started setting the rain clouds started to gather on the horizon just as it was getting dark.

As predicted the rain started with treacherous racing conditions resulting in a number of laps being lead by the safety car until the heavy rain subdued. The rain took many victims over night including the Team LNT Ginetta which caught fire due to an electrical issue.

As the sun rose it was the Beachdean Aston Martin leading the pack and it ultimately lead all the way to the end with a solid drive.
