Blancpain Sprint Series Brands Hatch May 2015

A gloriously sunny Brands Hatch welcomed back Blancpain Sprint Series and a large crowd of sports car racing fans were there to see the awe-inspiring GT3 machines tackling the grand prix loop. Both the qualifying and main races were dominated by the number 1 Belgian Audi Club Team WRT Audi R8 LMS Ultra driven by Robin Frijns and Laurens Vanthoor who took both victories.

In the qualifying race second place was hotly contested between 5 cars right up until the flag. Following a drive through for the Reiter Engineering Lamborghini Gallardo, the number 2 Belgian Audi Club Team WRT Audi R8 LMS Ultra took second place across the line, but was later given a time penalty due to a pit lane infringement. This awarded second place to the Team Brazil BMW Z4 of Valdeno Brito and Atila Abreu and promoted the MRS GT Racing Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3 of British pairing Sean Walkinshaw and Craig Dolby to third.

In the main race the Attempto Racing McLaren of Kevin Estre moved from fourth to second before the pit stops, passing both the Team Brazil Z4s. However, a slow pit stop for the 650S allowed the number 77 Team Brazil BMW to take second place ahead of Estre and Rob Bell.
