Elvington welcomes the ‘straightliners’

Elvington erupted with some serious noise last weekend (25th & 26th July) as families living in the Yorkshire village woke to the sound of thunder as petrolheads and associated racing teams from around the UK tried to beat the clock at the Ten of the Best Straightliners event on the RAF Elvington airfield.

A Nissan GTR R35 dominated the event piloted by Ian Cleminshaw lead with most points of the day. The meeting had an entry list of over 100 cars and bikes and when you have this much competition any event was always going to be ‘eventful’…
