Vale of York Stages Rally

Sunday 13th September saw the Vale of York Stages Rally take place at the Melbourne Airfield Near York. The event co-promoted by Lindholme Motorsports Club and Slaithwaite Motor Club was a single venue Stage rally of approximately 63 miles consisting of 10 stages.

It was the 3rd and final rally of the The Melbourne Rally Challenge 2015, with the The Lookout Stages and John Overend Memorial Stages having taken place earlier in the year.

Saturday had seen rain for most of the day leaving the stages greasy in a few of places which only added to the challenge for the teams, fortunately Sunday the sun came out and with only the occasional cloud the stages started to dry.

A big accident involving car 15 during Stage 6 meant the meeting was temporally stopped and the crew taken to hospital for checks. After a big delay the action got underway again for Stages 7 and 8. Unfortunately at the end of the day, Stages 9 and 10 had to be cancelled as time was called due to the 18:00 cut off.
