Stig Blomqvist wins the 2015 Safari Classic Rally

Stig Blomqvist and co-driver Stéphane Prévot of the Swedish Team Tido Race4Health rally team have won the 2015 East African Safari Classic Rally in a classic Porsche 911 rally car prepared and run by Britain’s Tuthill Porsche.

East African Safari Classic Rally is an infamous 9 day, 4,000-kilometre rally through Kenya and Tanzania and rally legend Stig Blomqvist (1984 WRC Champion) and his co-driver Stéphane Prévot took an early lead in the event battling the East African bush – tough conditions that forced retirements from plenty of the other competitors.

At the end of the 9 days the 911 Porsche came over the finish line 8 minutes over its closest rival, another 911 piloted by the Race4Health teams 2nd entry Swedish touring car ace Richard Göransson and co-driver Emil Axelsson.

Ace Porsche preparers Tuthill Porsche built and prepared the cars and are no strangers to victory on this 50-year-old rally, the late great Björn Waldegård took the companies first win in 2011.
