MSVT Trackday Championship to debut in 2016

MSVT, has announced that 2016 will see the introduction of the Trackday Championship which joins the already successful Trackday Trophy races for new racers.

MSVT say that the new championship will allow drivers to fully experience the excitement of a championship season whilst enjoying a great social and friendly atmosphere in the paddock through out the year. It is expected that this new championship will attract both those who have already competed in the Trackday Trophy along with newcomers to the MSVT paddock.

The class structure /class allocation will be determined by the amount of BHP per-tonne and is likely to be along the lines of :

Class S 201 – 225 bhp/tonne

Class A 176 – 200 bhp/tonne

Class B 151 – 175 bhp/tonne

Class C 126 – 150 bhp/tonne

Class D Up to 125 bhp/tonne

The proposed 2016 regulations will allow Trackday Trophy competitors to compete in the championship, whilst also offering the chance to other drivers with a production-based saloon, hatchback, or sports car to enter and race.

The meetings will include a 30 minutes qualifying and 45 minute races which will include a pit stop for driver changes and this always manages to keep the racing entertaining. The full MSVT Trackday Championship calendar will be announced in the coming weeks.
