2016 D1WA Drift Series Round 1 Collie Motorplex

While the start of the UK drift season remains a few months away, Simon Phillips travelled to the Collie Motorplex which is situated 200 clicks south and a 2 to 3 hour drive, from the centre of Perth for the first round of a 4 round drift series run at the track.

Ok there was a bit of cloud at times, a little…but overall it was a pleasant 34 degree day out of the shade with plenty of sunshine, ideal for catching all the action from some of Australia’s ‘Kings of Slide’. It was a pretty busy paddock, which made for a good number of cars out on track, and as the series got underway the battles resumed…results as follows:

In the amateurs the top five qualifiers were:

Mitch Larner leads the charge with 110 points as the drivers head to round 2 which takes place at the track later next month. Dates for the diary:
