Brit car Endurance – New Prototype and CN Series launched

Britcar is under new ownership and has been relaunched under the stewardship of former Britcar team member Claire Hedley and 2016 sees the championship re-branded as Britcar Endurance…

The new organisers have confirmed that pre-season interest in the Dunlop Endurance and the Dunlop Production Championship has been very strong, and this included interest from Prototype/CN race cars owners, a category that could not be squeezed into the Dunlop Endurance Championship which is aimed at GT and Production Cars. It was with this interest that Claire and her team have confirmed that a new Dunlop Prototype Series will run in this fast approaching 2016 season.

This new series will include five races over 4 meetings and Britcar Endurance will be working with the MSA to enable full championship status for the following 2017 season which could see the programme increasing potentially eight rounds.

The provisional 2016 Dunlop Prototype Series dates and costs:

1st/3rd April – Silverstone GP (2 x 1 hour races, entry fee £1700 plus VAT part of the Hankook 24hrs)

16th July – Donington (1 hour – £935 plus VAT)

3rd/4th September – Snetterton (1 hour – £935 plus VAT)

7th/9th October – Spa (2 hour, £1995 plus VAT)

Further fees: £100 plus VAT for Registration & Membership

The meeting format will include 20 minutes warm up and 30 minutes qualifying, there will also be a mandatory 90 second pit stop during the racing, to ensure shared drives are not disadvantaged and there will be the same VIP Hospitality on offer as the Production and Endurance championships. Regulations are still being finalised and we are told that the various classes will also be confirmed shortly. However expect to see Radicals;  RXC/ RXC Spyders, SR3, SR8, Rileys, Sakers, Aquila and Praga R1’s all lining up. There will also be a class for CN cars which will be divided into pre 2010 and post 2010.

Further information can be found here.
