Over 130 competitors took part in the meeting, including entries from the MG Car Club, Pre-war Austin Sevens, TVR Championship and Nottingham Sports Car Club all taking on the regulars competing for the Harewood Speed Hillclimb Championships.

Mist delayed the usual 9 o’ clock start for an hour, meaning that the morning was taken up with the 2 practice runs. After lunch the fine Spring sunshine continued for the first timed run but by the second timed runs of the day the skies had clouded over and added with a chilly wind. This made for cooler temperatures and many competitors found the later timed runs were not as quick as the first of the day…
