2016 ASBK Australian Superbikes Round 4 – Barbagallo Raceway

Round 4 of the ASBK Australian Superbikes took place at Barbagallo Raceway last Sunday (5th May) and there was some tough battles out on track…

Colder winds and a temperature of 17 degrees made for cooler conditions for the Superbikes but the 22 bike grid got their game faces on as a full schedule over the day got started.

The Ducati of Mike Jones headed off a two pronged attack by the Yamaha Motor Australia riders Wayne Maxwell and Glenn Allerton in race one but in race two the Yamaha boys got their own way with a one two of Maxwell and Allerton and ‘Mad Mike’ having to settle for 3rd – 1.7 seconds behind.

Also out on track, Moto3 saw a win by Tayla Relph in race 1 with Ben Leonard 2nd and Locky Taylor 3rd. In the second race it was Ben Leonard was first man over the line with Tayla Relph chasing hard a mere 1.1 seconds behind, 4th place man from race 1, Scott Pettit, took 3rd.
