750MC Mallory Park

At the weekend the 750 Motor Club arrived at Mallory Park, the much loved Leicestershire circuit, home of the famous Gerards corner, changeable weather conditions over the meeting added to the challenge…

In the 750 Formula, Robin Gearing secured the race 1 win with Bill Cowley and Peter Bove taking second and third. In race 2 it was Gearing, Bove and Glover as the first three over the line, a nice double win for Robin Gearing in his Darvi P88.

The 750 Trophy, Lyndon Thruston, John Slatter and Richard Rowe were the top 3 in race 1 but in race 2 Christian Pedersen had the pace with again John Slatter in 2nd and race 1 winner Thruston in 3rd.

The Classic Stock Hatch Championship always produces some close racing, Pip Hammond set the pace in qualifying converting this pole start to a win in race 1 with Lee Scott and Matt Rozier coming in a mere 2 and a bit seconds behind securing 2nd and 3rd. In race 2 these top three drivers were again battling hard with Hammond taking the win but this time Rozier 2nd and Scott 3rd.

The Revenol Formula Vee Championship fielded a 27 car grid and it was a pole start and win by Paul Smith with David Hughes 2nd and Ian Buxton 3rd. A double win for Smith after success again in race 2, but this time Martin Farmer 2nd and Ian Buxton back on the podium again in 3rd.

Tom Bell set the fastest time in qualifying in the Stock Hatch Royal Purple sponsored championship, and a pole start meant the Fiesta ST driver drove off into the distance taking a huge 27 second lead by the time the chequered flag went out after 14 laps. Neil Stringfellow secured 2nd and another Ford Fiesta ST piloted by Alistair Camp managing 3rd. In race 2 Tom Bell was again fastest man over the distance, this time with Alistair Camp in 2nd and Matthew Howarth in 3rd.

A great circuit and a another fine weekends racing with the 750MC.
