Deutsche Fest Brands Hatch 19/20th August

The weekend of 19/20th August saw a new event at Brands Hatch, Deutsche Fest. Following on from the success of the American Speedfest and the Festival Italia was Germany’s inaugural Deutsche Fest; featuring the best that Germany has to offer in the way of automobilia.

There was a full program over the weekend which was headlined by the Maximumgroup.net VAG Trophy on Saturday and the Volkswagen Racing Cup on Sunday. Also on the circuit were the Toyo Tires Production BMW Championships plus the Kuhmo BMW Championships. There was a great treat in store for F1 fans too, with fantastic demos from the Renault T08 Lotus, F3000 Renault F1 Replica, and the Jordan EJ12 – which was primarily sponsored by Deutsche Post.

Car owners and fans of German machinery filled the venue and got the chance to see a vast array of ‘Deutschewagons’ on display from various car clubs across the UK. There were also live demos of various car products. From a full car wrap to dent removal, engine cleaning to reflashing it was all there!

A great crowd pleaser was Paul Swift’s Precision Driving Team showing off some nifty skills behind the wheel. And for a few lucky spectators, there was a chance to take part in some stunt driving on two wheels in the team’s stunt Ford Fiesta.

As the event came to a close there was one last chance for German car enthusiasts to head back on track for the German car parade. VWs, Porsches, Mercs, Audis and BMWs all featured in this impressive convoy that gleamed in the evening sun.
