Harewood Speed Hillclimb Summer Champs

The British Automobile Racing Club (BARC), Yorkshire Centre held the one day Harewood Hillclimb event on Sunday 27th August for the Summer Championship meeting.

Following the two practice runs, we had three timed runs to complete the day. The weather forecast was for sunny periods and variable amounts of cloud helping to keep the track temperatures reasonable.

Joining the regulars from the Harewood Speed Hillclimb Championship we had competitors on two and three wheels for their one and only trip of the season to Harewood Hillclimb. Also joining in the action was a small group of competitors from the TVR Championship.

In the Harewood Speed Hillclimb Championship, after round seven of the nine round championship, Sarah Bosworth (Lotus Elise) now leads Deryck Jones (Peugeot 205 GTi) with Robert Bellerby (Sylva Riot) moving up to third.

John Chacksfield still leads the Harewood FTD Championship from Dave Banner both in OMS 28’s. Dave was not competing this weekend but still has an eight point lead over Ben Lovell (OMS SC4CF).

The final two rounds of the 2017 season take place over the weekend of 16th and 17th September.
