BRSCC Snetterton Meeting

BRSCC headed to Snetterton for two days of action packed racing..

The sunny skies from Saturday, disappeared on the Sunday as fog descended on Snetterton. With poor visibility the BMW compact cup was delayed by 40 minutes. Thankfully it didn’t take long to clear before the action got underway. With qualifying shortened it made it all the more important to put a good lap in as early as possible. Reigning champion Steven Dailly put his BMW on pole for the first race of the day.

The quartet of Caterham classes produced great action throughout the weekend. The slipstreaming down the bentley straight was being used effectively to create passes into nelson.

In the Caterham 420R reigning champion Danny Winstanley claimed both wins coming from 9th on the grid to claim race one victory, then starting on pole for the 2nd race.

The MX5 grid was a bumper size of 50 cars, they were split over two groups, the close racing was clean and fair throughout the weekends racing even if they were split by tenths of a second. Oliver Allowed won in group A, Sam Gendy won in group B. The second group A race was again won by Oliver, but there was a different winner in the second group B race which was won by Samuel Smith.

In the F1000 it was reigning champion Michael Watton who claimed pole by just over a tenth from Paul Butcher. Michael won the first race, engine issues in the 2nd race led to Dan Clowes taking victory. For the third race it was the turn of Paul Butcher to suffer more mechanical gremlins continuing from race 2. This led to Robert Sayell enjoying a 5 seconds cushion on his way to victory in race 3.
