Birthday Boy Bortolotti on pole for Dubai 24 hours

Mirko Bortolotti set’s the pace in the qualifying for the 14th edition of the Dubai 24 hours. CWS Ginetta is on pole in the TCE race.

One of the last races, if not the last race for the Huracán GT3 before it becomes the EVO version for this year and Mirko Bortolotti has taken pole position for the 2019 Dubai 24 hours with a 1M56.446s . This is the 2nd time in a row for the outfit and the 3rd time to take pole position. could this be the year for the GRT squad? they took their maiden 24 hour race win last year at Daytona, maybe it’s their time for the Dubai 24 hours.
it’s followed by 3 Audi’s on the grid in the order of #88 Car collection Motorsport, #7 MS7 by WRT, #9 BWT Mücke Motorsport.

Lamborghini have taken A6 AM class pole as well with #10 Target racing Huracán ahead of Hofor Racing’s AMG GT3 and HTP motorsport’s AMG GT3.
SPX made it a whitewash of Lamborghini’s as the Leipert Motorsport Hurcan Super Trofeo went quickest ahead of the Vortex V8 #701 and 3rd was the #990 MRS-GT Racing Porsche.

GT4 Pole position was taken by Cicely motorsport running their new AMG GT4. The team dipped their tow into the Creventic series by entering the A3 class last year with 2 clip cup cars. They took delivery of the AMG GT4 last year and ran the final British GT round at Donington Park before shipping it off to Abu Dhabi for the Gulf 12 hours. The squad have arrived here and left their mark already by taking a strong pole in a tough grid for GT4.

CWS has put themselves on pole for the TCE race in the quick hands of Steven wells who made his debut here last year.
With only 3 SP3 cars on the grid, we expected a TCR car to take the pole but the CWS Ginetta is always strong here and proves it once again. AC motorsport Audi RS3 LMS TCR takes 2nd in TCE and TCR pole position with Autorama Motorsport by Wolf Power Racing putting their car in 3rd position in the TCE grid.

Qualifying went into the start of the dusk conditions but never sunset. They will all have to wait until tomorrow to deal with that low sunshine that makes endurance racing so difficult.
