Harewood Open and May Motorsport UK British Championship Hillclimb 2019.

The British Automobile Racing Club (BARC), Yorkshire Centre welcomed competitors from the Pirelli Ferrari Hillclimb Championship on 11th and 12th May 2019. The first practice run was completed on Saturday morning,  then about three quarters of the way though the second practice run the heavens opened and with a number of the British Hillclimb Championship competitors waiting in the start area with slicks on it was a mad rush to change to wets. Second practice was resumed after lunch with some of the competitors, mostly driving single seater’s,  opting to run a mixture of wets on the front and slicks on the back. The first of the timed runs soon got underway but by mid afternoon the rain clouds returned and drenched the drying track again.

In the Harewood Speed Hillclimb Championship, 2018 Champion Deryck Jones (Peugeot 205 Gti car no.56) leads from Kieran O’Brien (Nissan 305Z car no 73) with Ian Butcher (Honda Integra car no.55) in third.
