BRSCC Mazda MX-5 Supercup – Brands Hatch

BRSCC Mazda MX-5 Supercup drivers headed for Brands this weekend and with the sunny weather, Saturdays racing was, as always extremely close….

David Chapman (Paul Sheard Racing & Team P42) had qualified on pole but when the lights changed, Tom Roche made a flying start and went into the lead but a mistake during the first lap enabled Chapman through enabling him to a gap, stay out of trouble and take the win.

Race 2 was a totally different affair as start line issues looked like another green flag lap but the lights went out and the winner of race one found himself buried mid pack by Paddock Hill bend. Showing that he is clearly a ‘Brands Master’ DC fought back coming through the field eventually crossing the line door to door with the leader Mike Comber who managed to just take the win leaving DC a hard earned second place and Paul Sheard 3rd – Paul took two 3rd places a great result having only entered last minute with zero testing. Fine display also by Liam Murphy who finished strongly in both races in only his second ever Supercup meeting.

5 points only keep the two championship leaders apart, and with another solid result from Abbie Eaton who is 3rd, this season has the makings of a great one. Final results as follows:
