MG 90 Event – Aussie Champ flies in.

2013 Victorian MG Road Racing champion Cody Hill is flying into the UK, to take on the MG Trophy regulars in both of the Finishline sponsored MG Trophy races at the prestigious MG 90 event at Silverstone this weekend (21st/22nd June).

22 year old Cody won the 2013 Australian version of the Trophy at the final round of the series at the Sandown Raceway in the ex Paul Luti MG LE 500.

Trophy co-ordinator Pete Macwaters said “I am really please to have helped Cody achieve his dream of racing with the UK Trophy guys on the Silverstone GP circuit on this very special MG weekend. We have close links with the Australian drivers after several of our cars ended up over there, it’s great to have him racing with us in the UK.”

Cody will be visiting Finishline on Thursday (19th) for a seat fitting prior to using their ZR 170 hire car at the weekend where he’ll be up against 19 others in the very popular class C.

“Cody has a lot of rwd experience having first raced one of the original MGF Cup cars back in 2010 however he will have to adapt to fwd as we no longer race the rwd F’s anymore, said Macwaters.”

No less than 31 cars are entered for the two Trophy races, Macwaters went on to say that these were the best grids for sometime with 8 of the 190’s and 4 of the new 160 class joining the 170 runners.

MG 90 is the rebranded title of MG Live ! for this year to highlight the marques 90th year. MG Motor will be in attendance with lots of new cars on display, tickets are available on the gate.
