Westfield Sports Car Club Sprint Blyton Park

Westfield Sports Car Club Sprint took place at Blyton Park over the weekend (11th/12th July). Organised by the Westfield Sports Car Club, the event was round 21 of the clubs ‘Speed Series’ but also joining them at the track were the Nottingham Sports Car Club for round 16 of their ‘Speed Championship’ and the Lotus Cup UK for round 6 of their 2015 Lotus Cup UK Speed Championship.

Saturday was cool, cloudy and with a bit of a breeze for most of the day which kept the air and track temperatures down and Sunday was best described as slightly mixed but generally dry. Some of the action on Saturday included a Lotus hitting the armco at the far side of the circuit and two Westfield’s attempts at destroying the timing equipment at the finish line. Two practice and three-timed runs took place each day over the weekend.
