End of An Era..Moto GP

Dorma boss Ezpeleta has confirmed that the BBC will no longer to broadcast the MotoGP at the end of the 2013 season with a new deal having been agreed with BT Sport (soon to launch new sport channels).

The BBC has broadcast MotoGP since 2003, and has had exclusive UK rights since 2009. British Eurosport also has access to live race weekend coverage, with the exception of the MotoGP race and it too looses its rights to broadcast GP in 2014.

Presenters are yet to be decided but rumors are circulating that some presenters from both camps may transfer across to the new channel. The BBC current line up is fantastic and clearly Matt Roberts and Azi Farni have great relationships with the riders and key people in the paddock and the partnership of Steve Parrish and Charlie Cox is excellent, humorous and highly knowledgeable. The Eurosport team of Toby Moody, Julian Ryder, Neil Spalding and Steve Day have also done a great job so lets hope the powers at BT don’t decide they need an all new ‘unsigned’ team.
