750MC at a Sunny Silverstone National…

The 750 Motor Club arrived at Silverstone to glorious weather, for the one day of action packed racing.

5 formulae raced around Silverstone national circuit.

In the V8s there was a nasty incident between Andy Lambert and Robert Frost, as the two battled for position, Frost clipped Lamberts car which caused Frost to be airborne briefly. This caused significant damage to Lamberts car with the front end bodywork ripped off. Both were forced to retire and sadly neither made race 2.

V8 Race was a close affair!

The Clio races were action packed, in race 1 Ryan Polley lost 2nd and fell back to 6th, Patrick Fletcher built up a lead he would never give up. Polley fought his way back to fine 2nd after Andrew Tibbs retired with power steering failure. Jack Kingsbury carried on his form from Oulton taking 3rd place. Simon Donoghue ran 2nd for a while before finishing a fine 4th. In the second race Polley was determined to win, he took the lead with Fletcher 2nd, however a half spin at copse on oil let Fletcher through. This didn’t stop Polley and he made his move to regain the lead and take the win by 0.4sec.

The BMW car club produced a great list of entries, with various classes throughout. 32 cars took to the grid. In race one it was Luke Sedzikowski who won in his E92 M3, he then repeated this in race 2. Lee Deegan won class 6 in race one carrying on from Combe, however in race 2 his engine expired after 8 laps.

Armed Forces produced a close race in their first of the day. With the lead changing between Farard Darver, Will Ashmore and Chris Camp. Will Ashmore on the penultimate lap gained the lead and held on to win. Ian Fletcher in his Hornet won the 2nd race with Will carrying on his good form and finishing 2nd.

In the M3/330 Challenge, Matt Maxted completed the double in the 330 challenge, his first win in the series. David Whitmore had his first win in the M3 cup in race 1 from Tom Coller. For race 2 it was another new winner in Nick Williamson with David Whitmore in 2nd.
