Paulin Takes The Win in MX1 Italy

Gautier Paulin (Kawasaki Racing Team) raced to his third GP victory of the year in the Italian round of the FIM MX1 Motocross World Championship at Maggiora.

The Frenchman was clearly comfortable on the hillside track taking the win in the Qualification race, and he showed his maturity and skill as he converted a sixth-placed start into a third-placed finish in the opening moto on a slippery track, wetted down by the organisers to reduce dust under the Italian sun. Paulin had the holeshot in race two sprinting clear initially but it was a battle with the defending champion in the final stages of the race. The Kawasaki Racing Team leader currently sits in second place in the championship standings as the series enters the second half of the season.

Kawasaki Racing Team colleague Jeremy Van Horebeek continues the learning curve in his rookie season in MX1. The Belgian set the fastest lap times in the practice sessions and missed the podium by just one place after two strong top five finishes and is now eighth in the championship standings.

British rider Tommy Searle of Team CLS Kawasaki Monster Energy Pro Circuit crashed during the practice damaging his fingers making it painful racing, but managed to finish the weekend seventh in the GP despite being knocked off in the early stages of the opening moto. Seale produced an fantastic performance coming from the back through to the top ten, then finished the second race in fifth. tommy Searle is currently sixth place in the championship standings.
