Formula Renault & Clio’s Race AUTUMN CUP

Rockingham, circuit hosts its final race meeting of the season this weekend as the British Automobile Racing Club (BARC) brings the first 2013 Protyre Formula Renault Autumn Cup, formerly the Winter Series, to the Northamptonshire circuit.

Chris Middlehurst was crowned 2013 Formula Renault Champion, at the penultimate meeting at Rockingham only a few weeks ago. It will be a busy weekend in the paddock with qualifing in the morning and 4 races then held over the two days using the International Super Sportscar Circuit.

The Formula Renaults will also be joined by cars and drivers from the Renault UK Clio Cup series (supported BTCC this 2013 season) and will move into the new Michelin Clio Cup for the season finale at Rockingham. This new series includes both purpose-built racers and cars converted from road-going Clio Renaultsport 197 or 200s and the series will include a recent prise winner from the Henry Surtees Foundation who will be making their car racing debut. The weekend race format will be a 20-minute sprint race on the Saturday, then the first endurance-Clio Cup race to be held in the UK on the Sunday.
