BMCRC 2014 Confirmed Dates & Classes

British Motorcycle Racing Club 2014 season dates for the diary. The count down begins, only a fews months till spring and with pre-season starting on the 4th April at Brands Hatch its time to prepare for next season.

If you are racing the same bike, possibly not too much to do but changing classes it is time to dust off those spanners, burn the midnight oil and build your race winner for next season. For new racers wanting to get on the grid in 2014, the BMCRC will be running their race school at Brands Hatch Indy on the 22nd/ 23rd February – CTC Course on the 22nd and on-track on the 23rd. The BMCRC 2014 Calendar is as follows:

 

Brands Hatch Indy: 5-6th April

Snetterton 300: 26th-27th April

Silverstone International: 10-11th May

Oulton Park: 24th May & 26th May

Donington GP: 21-22nd June

Cadwell Park: 19-20th July

Brands Hatch GP: 9-10th August

Snetterton 300: 6-7th September

Brands Hatch Indy: 4-5th October

 

Note for all riders, every meeting will have a BMCRC Friday Test day pre-race weekend.

 

2014 BMCRC Classes

Morello Services MRO Powerbikes

Open to all 1000cc bikes*, Stock or Tuned competing for a single title. Features a “MRO Clubman 1000 Cup” open to Clubmen licence holders only, stock or tuned. *Whilst the phrase “1000” is being used – both these classes will run with “Open rules”. Clubman will also score in the main Championship. Meeting Format: MRO 1000 runs one qualifying session to set the grid for race 1. The Class has four races over the weekend. Subsequent races grids set according to fastest lap scored in previous race.

Team Respro MRO 600 Championship

A class that mixes Stock 600’s and Supersport 600 tuned machines competing for a single title. Features a “600 Clubman Championship” open to Clubmen licence holders only, stock or tuned. Clubman will also score in the main Championship. Meeting Format: MRO 600 runs one qualifying session to set the grid for race 1. The Class has four races over the weekend. Subsequent races grids set according to finishing position in previous race.

MRO Minitwins (inc: BMCRC Juniors and BMCRC Rookies Championships)

The biggest dedicated Minitwin grid in the UK! Predominantly the Suzuki SV650. Separate Junior & Rookie Championships in the same grid (you could be eligible for both!). A Junior is 15-20 yrs old on January 1st 2014. 15 yr olds will need an ACU Clubman Licence, 14yrs on a National Licence. Rookies will run separate grids if entry numbers are sufficient. This class must use Road Legal tyres except when a wet race has been declared.

CONTINUING FOR 2014: National Junior Cup

Series for 13-18 yr olds on the Kawasaki Ninja 300 twin, 4-stroke. Special package available via Kawasaki, sealed engines, over 9 rounds. Novice, Clubman or National licence holders’ eligible. Pirelli controlled tyre. Ninja 250’s from 2012/3 also eligible, some available second hand….Interested riders/parents teams should email the Bemsee office ( mikedommett@hotmail.com ) to register interest in order to receive Series information pack as it is released.

NEW FOR 2014: Senior 300 Series

So many riders (and Dads) said they’d love to race the kid’s 300 bike – now’s your chance. Identical package to the NJC, buy a bike and race! Will run alongside the NJC grid.

Club classes to run over 8 rounds:

DFDS Seaways Yamaha Past Masters

Budget racing on the great Yamaha LC, TZR and YPVS bikes of the 80’s and early 90’s. The YPM class has developed into a special group in the Bemsee paddock. This class uses treaded tyres. Trophies for Clubman and Rookie sections on the Saturday races.

Planned to run with:

2-Stroke GP Series

Two strands in here: GP: for factory produced – all types and GP-F [Formula]: for converted road machines, all types.

BMCRC Thunderbike & Thunderbike Extreme

The only Power to Weight Ratio series in the UK…A power to weight ratio restriction applies here covering Singles, twins, triples & fours which are all eligible for this class. You may use any tyre, treaded or slick. Technical Regs for 2014 are on bemsee.net and thunderbike.org.uk. This class includes a Thunderbike Extreme section too with a slightly higher P-W ratio. BMCRC Rookie Open (600’s & 1000’s)

This class is where many start their careers. All riders will be first year novice licence holders. The bikes run to Open for 1000 and Supersport 600 rules, this means you can run a tuned or stock bike. It’s trackcraft you’ll be learning as in the hands of a talented rider any bike can go quick. You’ll be using treaded tyres. There are separate Rookie 600 and Rookie 1000 championships either running in the same grid or separated at our bigger meetings. Eligibility for MRO 600 or MRO 1000 may be considered later in the season based on your progress. Will run at all meetings.

BMZRC 250 MZ

The ultimate budget class with a great family friendly paddock. This class may use any tyre treaded or slick and is run in accordance with the BMZRC technical specifications. Much more info on the MZ Racing Club’s own site at www.bmzrc.org.uk. (Class will run all 9 rounds, last Brands round will be non-Championship scoring)

EDIasia Formula 400

Sponsored again by EDIasia the F400 class has developed into a superbly competitive class with great camaraderie. Fuel injection systems are not allowed in this class, which uses treaded tyres. There’s a Rookie section in this class and a “stock” sub-64 bhp class.

BMCRC F1 & F2 Sidecars

If 3-wheels take your fancy and there’re two of you we’ll put you in touch with reps from this class who can help you get started. A unique breed of racers this and the Bemsee paddock is more the richer for them. Significant sponsorship is available from RKBF1 that covers free or discounted entry fees, depending on what you are running – F1 or F2.

BMCRC Open Championship

Will run at most rounds. Open rules, all bikes upto 1300cc, free choice on tyres. Offered as an extra class to any rider for just £50 for the whole weekend in addition to your main entry. Reformatted for 2014 – one longer race per day. (Entries from small capacity bikes may be reviewed on a case by case basis.)
