Classic Sports Car Club Revives The Classic K Series For 2014

The Classic Sports Car Club is reviving the Classic K series in 2014 with rounds at Brands Hatch, Snetterton, Silverstone, Donington and Oulton Park. Classic K is a race series for GT and Touring cars running to FIA Appendix K, with no Sports Racers permitted.

The revival of the Classic K series has been driven by our members who are seeking better value for money racing than is currently available in the FIA Appendix K market place. We are happy to accept drivers who have cars complying to Appendix K, who may not wish to undergo the time consuming expense of applying for HTP papers.

As a prelude to our 2014 plans we are organising a one hour Classic K race at Snetterton on Sunday 20th October 2013.

The race will be one hour long with a thirty minute qualifying session for one or two drivers with a compulsory pit stop, priced at an excellent value £345. All qualifying and racing will take place on the same day. For this race we are giving all entrants the pit garages where scrutineering will also take place.

The Classic Sports Car Club has refined the regulations thanks to its previous experiences of Classic K, the Jaguar E-Type and Lotus Elan anniversary races, together with the model of continental races such as Youngtimers and Spa 6 hours.

Our technical regulations are simple; cars must run to Appendix K, the only tyres permitted are Dunlop L or M.

Electronic Ignition is permitted so long as the distributor is the sole means of timing. NO crank sensors or management systems are permitted. All V8 cars must run to a minimum weight of 1000 kilos.

There will be Seven Classes.

Class 1 up to 1300cc.

Class 2 1301 to 1600cc.

Class 3 1601 to 2000cc.

Class 4 2001 to 2700cc.

Class 5 over 2700cc.

Class 6 Marcos, Elan and Ginetta G4 Pre-Crossflow.

Class 7 E-Type.

The race entry fee of just £345 includes club membership and car registration for the remainder of 2013.

For more information please contact the club office at info@classicsportscarclub.co.uk or Richard Wos richardwos@btconnect.com who will be co-ordinating the series or check out the Paddock42 Championship Directory for information on all the series that the CSCC run.
