Cal takes 2nd at Le Mans MotoGP, despite a broken leg!

Cal Crutchlow says he and his Tech 3 Yamaha team will build on his French MotoGP performance, at Le Mans, on Sunday as the British rider claimed a career-best second, despite racing with a fractured shin after a crash in practice but amazingly it didn’t hinder him on his way to securing a first podium of the season.

Dani Pedrosa dominated to win the eventful French Grand Prix to take over the top spot in the MotoGP championship standings. Pedrosa was well clear of Cal Crutchlow, at the end second aboard the  despite riding with a shin fracture from his practice crash.

The win moved Pedrosa six points clear of team-mate Marc Marquez, who recovered to third on the second Honda after a poor start, and 17 ahead of Jorge Lorenzo, whose Yamaha was only seventh.

Andrea Dovizioso’s Ducati seized the early initiative on a tentative first lap during which Marquez dropped to the rear of the top 10.
