Diecast Race Models… Replica F1 Helmets

Paddock42 caught up with David Westwood from Diecast Race Models the other weekend at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. Diecast Models produce truly stunning replica 1;2 scale F1 helmets and are a big hit with collectors all over the globe.

Specialising in Limited Editions and Race Specials, alongside the standard range of helmets that are released, David has also worked alongside Caterham F1 and Team McLaren on various projects. Diecast Race Models have proudly been commissioned through Team McLaren a Lewis Hamilton 2011 British GP replica and an Ayrton Senna 1993 Donington Park replica and both helmets are limited to 500pcs worldwide. it has to be noted that the Senna Donington is the only official race winning helmet of Ayrton’s to be replicated in 1:2 scale. Caterham commissioned what must be the smallest ever Ltd Edition at only 112pcs worldwide – the Heikki Kovalainen test helmet.

Collecting is addictive and David says that he has customers with whole collections who buy the new ltd editions as soon as they are released and with buyers based all over the world and attending many motorsport shows and events, David is kept super busy.
