Central Scotland Autograss Club 2014 Dates

Central Scotland Autograss club have announced their dates for 2014, all race meetings are held at their track situated on the B825 about 1.5 miles from Avonbridge, Falkirk. Click here for location details.

Autograss racing is a fantastic way to get into motorsport and get behind the wheel with cars for beginners starting at around £500 but of course you can invest more and the great thing about this type of racing is the fact that there is a car and class for every budget. The racing is a non-contact motorsport and takes place on a quarter mile oval usually between March and November, with the track being laid out on a natural surface and a fresh track starts off originally as grass.

There are 12 different adult classes, ladies, men and also 2 junior classes (age 12-16) and its spectacular to watch, with lots of sideways action in saloons and single seaters, with thrills and spills, the racing is always close and fast.

Competitive classes are as follows:

CLASS 1 – The ideal starter class, inexpensive & relatively easy to drive. All cars are 1000cc front wheel drive (Austin Mini, Citroen AX, PUG 106, Micra)

CLASS 2 – Another low cost class, Limited engine modifications. Up to 1300cc front or rear wheel drive (Nova, Fiesta, Micra etc)

CLASS 3 – Unlimted size front engine, rear wheel drive modified cars, ideal for the big tail out style driver.

CLASS 4 – Up to 1130cc front and rear wheel drive modified cars, engine / position must remain original.

CLASS 5 – 1131cc – 1421cc Fully modified cars, car engine in any position (ie Citroen AX with mid mounted 1400cc Vauxhall engine, etc)

CLASS 6 – Over 1421cc front wheel drive front engine cars only (ie Ford Ka with 16v Vauxhall engine, or Mini with 2.0 Turbo, etc)

CLASS 7 – The BIG BOYS of the saloon classes, over 1421cc Mid engine rear wheel drive only (V8, Twin R1 motorbike engines, etc)

CLASS 8 – Up to 1420cc purpose built open wheeled specials. Usually powered by motorbike engines.

CLASS 9 – 1421cc – 2070cc purpose built open wheeled specials. Honda Type R & Vauxhall 2.0l Red Top Engines are popular.

CLASS 10 – Over 2070cc purpose built open wheeled specials. Twin Motorbike engines & V8s are popular.

STOCKHATCH – Up to 1600cc hatchbacks with limited modifications.

FORMULA 600 – 600cc bike engined purpose built open wheeled specials.

JUNIOR SALOONS – For KIDS aged 12 – 16yrd old, same as class 1 (1000cc front wheel drive cars)

JUNIOR SPECIALS – For KIDS aged 12 – 16yrs old, purpose built open wheeled specials powered by 1200cc Vauxhall engines
