MSA CONFIRMS NEGOTIATIONS WITH FORD

The Motor Sports Association, governing body of UK motor sport, has today announced that the tender lodged by Ford for the organisation and promotion of a new single-seater racing championship to commence in 2015 has been selected to go forward to the negotiation stage.

The MSA stresses that these negotiations remain subject to contract, but both Ford and MSA are optimistic that they will result in a positive conclusion for UK motor sport. The new championship, the title of which has yet to be decided, will be run in accordance with the new FIA Formula 4 sporting and technical regulations.

Gerard Quinn, Head of Ford Racing in Europe, said: “I am delighted with the news from the MSA today. Selecting Ford to go through to the next round of contract negotiations is a significant step and recognises the continued commitment of Ford Racing to junior single seat racing.”
