Mazda MX5 Supercup – Snetterton

Team P42’s David Chapman headed to Snetterton this weekend for what looks to be the Championship contenders last round of the season……calling all potential sponsors out there, get in touch with us – not only can get your name on a front running car, but a potential championship winning car!

Good weekends work for Tom Roche who took a double victory, narrowly winning the first race and dominating the second. The drivers had mixed conditions in race 1 with light rain on some parts of the track, but the real Snetterton rain hit just before race 2 so there was no grip and a lot of standing water.

It was a tough weekends racing for DC, which started by having to skip testing on Friday due to budget constraints, which then meant no decent set up for quali, but David still managed to get it on the third row and into 5th. After a good start in race 1 his race ended three corners on with a gearbox fail which then meant starting at the back of the grid start in race 2. After the frustrations of race 1 DC’s mind was fully focussed for race 2 and a heroic drive from the back saw DC salvage 5th and remain 2nd in the championship and only a few points off the top at the end of the weekend.
