GRRC Goodwood Spring Sprint

Goodwood Road Racing Club (GRRC) celebrated its 10th ‘Spring Sprint’ last weekend at the famous Chichester circuit with a broad mix of cars across the classes that included late Nissan Skyline GTR’s, Caterhams, beautiful AC Cobras and a stunning GT40…

Teams and drivers soaked up the sunshine whilst being joined by a good turnout of spectators who enjoyed the occasional whiff of Castrol R and wondering the paddock. With the weather firmly on everyone’s side, drivers were out there clearly appreciating their cars albeit a GT40 or a new Skoda Fabia it was all about experiencing the circuit and of course ‘hustling’ it through St Mary’s.

The P42 Cortina headed out on track for its ‘official’ first competition meeting but technical problems arose which meant a generally frustrating day overall but in the end the issue was found and we can takeaway a good basis to build on for the 2015 season. Next stop for this Dagenham racer is some serious testing before its gets on the grid formally this year.

Surrounded by banks of glowing daffodils and covered by blue skies, this Goodwood Spring Sprint meeting proved an excellent event and with the impromptu classic car and bike gatherings that often occur at a meeting it was a fine spectacle for all those that attended.
