International GT Open Silverstone June 2015

International GT Open returned to the UK with a visit to a sunny Silverstone Grand Prix circuit. Although the grid was not as big as previous years, the action was just as competitive.

In the first 70 minute encounter the Teo Martin Motorsport McLaren 650S of Miguel Ramos and Alvaro Parente claimed the victory, which meant the McLaren brand has taken an impressive hat-trick of wins over consecutive weekends at Silverstone.

In the slightly shorter race 2 Phil Keen set the early pace in the Balfe Motorsport Ferrari 458 but after the pitstops came a charge from Raffaele Giammaria in his AF Corse machine who clawed back the time to overhaul Shaun Balfe to take the win.

Two lively performances from the Seat Leon Eurocup saw a lot of kerb hopping and dust flying! The 2 entertaining races were won by Stian Paulsen and Jonny Cocker.

The first Euroformula Open race was won by Yu Kanamaru driving for Emilio de Villota Motorsport and the second by Konstantin Tereschenko for Campos Racing.

Radical Sportscars provided the rest of the meeting’s races, with 2 races each of the Radical European Masters and the SR1 Cup and a 90 minute race from the Enduro Championship, results below.
