Fun Cup at Brands Hatch 20th June

Fun Cup racers filled the paddock at Brands last weekend as the championship headed to the Kent circuit for round 3 and a 4hr endurance race at the ‘Indy’ track.

The meeting remained dry although overcast for most of the day that is until the very end when the skies opened and put down enough rain to generate red flags in the closing minutes. As always, Fun Cup provides incredibly close competition as speed, race craft but very importantly strategy all come into play and this Saturday was no exception with the action out on track best described as ‘hectic’ which only added to the excitement.

As the rain fell and the officials decided to end the race, the Race Logic, car # 1 of Julian Thomas, Nigel Greensall & Jon Tomlinson took the win after 226 laps. It was a 28 car start but after nearly 4 hours of racing, only 3 laps separated the top 12.

Teams and drivers depart for the legendary Spa Francorchamps joining their European counterparts for the 25hr which is held over the 9,10,11 & 12th July for a non-championship round. Normal play resumes at Donington Park for round 4 on the 22nd August.
