Lookout Stages Rally

The Lookout Stages Rally, organised by the Trackrod Motor Club, took place last Sunday (3rd April), the spring weather had disappeared but with 50 entrants it was a hard fought competition…

The event is a single venue, mixed surface rally run over 4 stages, with each stage run twice equating to an 8 stage event. To make it challenging the morning stages are reversed for the afternoon ensuring crews had to seek new lines and grip throughout the event. Central service area was based at the York Raceway and the rally was a round of the following championships East Midlands Association of Motor Clubs (EMAMC), Association of North East Midland Motor Clubs (ANEMMC) and Association of North Western Motor Clubs (ANWCC).

No spring weather to be enjoyed, the event got underway under damp and very overcast conditions with just under 50 entrants lining up to compete. The number 27 Mrk2 Escort of Wayne Hirst and Adam Charlesworth rolled on stage 2, driver and co-driver were fine and after a service stop battled on minus front and rear screen’s and body damage to complete the remaining days stages.
