The Benjafield’s Club Annual Sprint Goodwood

The Benjafield’s Club hosted its now annual sprint event at Goodwood’s famous motor circuit last weekend (Saturday 21st May) it was great to be there to capture some of the action…

The event run by William Medcalf, proprietor of Vintage Bentley specialists based in Liss, Hampshire is always an excellent day out for vintage motorsport enthusiasts and families alike. The main attraction were the dozen or so Vintage Bentleys which were put through their paces on the famous circuit by their owners, which is always spectacular.

One of the most famous cars on show (and doing some demo runs!) was the 4 1/2 litre Pacey-Hassan Special Bentley, a specially built racer making its debut at Brooklands in 1936 and winning the race in its first outing. This looked great in its current black “Safety Car” livery.

Amongst the more modern machinery taking part, a former Derek Bell LeMans Porsche 962 was conducting some demo runs throughout the day, despite the slightly damp weather this car was a fantastic sight blasting down the straight at Goodwood.
