British GT Championship Oulton Park

British GT travelled to Oulton Park last weekend (28/30th May) and the Liam Griffin and Adam Carroll managed to take the win the race 1 of British GT’s double header meeting at the cheshire circuit. In GT4, Graham Johnson and Mike Robinson led from the start, a lights to flag win for the duo…

Joe Osborne and Lee Mowle finish second ahead of Rick Parfitt Jnr and Seb Morris aboard their Team Parker Racing Bentley. Generation AMR Macmillan Racing’s Jack Mitchell and Matthew Graham secured their first GT4 podium ahead of RCIB Insurance Racing’s William Phillips and Jordan Stilp.

It was the first British win for Lamborghini with Griffin and Carroll behind the wheel since Spa in 2010 the pair driving a strategic race from the front row in the meetings first 1hr race.

In race two, it was Rick Parfitt Jnr and Seb Morris in the Team Parker Racing’s Bentley who secured a maiden British GT win.  Also out on track it was a double win for Optimum Motorsport’s Mike Robinson and Graham Johnson although discussions were had to overturn a pit penalty to secure it.

It was a first podium for the Black Bull Ecurie Ecosse team of Alasdair McCaig, and Rob Bell since sitting to the McLaren’s 650S for this season.

On the GT3 rostrum, the Barwell Motorsport Lamborghini of Jon Minshaw and Phil Keen, whilst Marcus Hoggarth and Abbie Eaton battled through from eighth place on the GT4 grid to claim the Maserati MC GranTurismo’s maiden British GT podium just ahead of Aaron Mason and Rob Bearable (RCIB Insurance Racing’s) who were welcome onto the podium for their first time.  The race was unfortunately finished 5 minutes early due to a crash by Century Motorsport Ginetta driver Anna Walewska, who had been leading the GT4 class at the time…
