Colin Blower Remembered

This morning we received a call informing us of the sad news of the passing of paddock legend and former British GT driver Colin Blower…

Colin had been battling with Parkinsons disease for a number of years and unfortunately passed away on Tuesday last week. Throughout his career Colin was involved as a driver, team owner and engineer – his abilities out on track meant he was hugely respected as a hard but very clean racer along with having the ability to produce the best prepped cars around.

Colin’s years in the TVR Tuscan Challenge paddock saw him involved in some huge big battles out on track with the likes of Ian Flux and Martin Short along but also his many skills were transferred to running a team that helped launch the career of Jamie Campbell Walter, Jamie later going on to win the FIA GT Championship in a Lister Storm. With his business Colin Blower Motorsport not only did he have the ability to produce exceptionally well prepared race cars, but he was known for being a calm and generous team principle. From projects that included building a Ford RS200 to take on Pikes Peak with Stig Blomqvist at the helm, Colin went on to being involved with historic racing competing at Goodwood Revival amongst other events in various Aston Martins and a Lola T70.

Our sincere condolences to Colins Family and friends.

Colin’s funeral is arranged for Thursday 6th July at 10.45am at Burbage Church, followed by cremation at 12 noon in Nuneaton, and the wake will be held at the Meeting Centre, Marchant Road, Hinckley.
