Hundreds of Minis descend on Oulton Park

The Oulton Park Mini Festival on 19th August attracted a large number of spectators who were greeted with a rather disjointed day of racing.

Through the fault of nobody, of the ten races on the day’s itinerary, only two finished how they should have done. Eight of the ten races were red flagged – this was due to there being an abundance of on-track incidents. Credit to the stewards and marshals who kept the meeting running despite everything being against them – a torrential downpour just before the lunch break did not help.

There was a great variety of Minis on track with action for 60s machinery to the modern day vehicles of the Mini Challenge races.

After the racing, hundreds of Minis and their proud owners took to the track for a parade lap, featuring some very rare versions of the classic British automobile.
